A Typical Day Looks Like:
- Conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments and analyze data to elucidate quality attributes of protein and gene therapy candidates
- Develop methods/technologies to support upstream and downstream functional groups
- Perform protein purification and modification (labeling) to support therapeutic pre-clinical assay development and release testing
- Document analytical work in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) according to defined protocols
- Communicate findings to supervisor
- Summarize results to support presentations and regulatory documents
- Present findings at group, departmental, and cross-functional meetings
- Maintain and troubleshoot essential laboratory instruments
This Role May Be For You If You Have:
- Laboratory operations experience; ability to manage and organize data with manager supervision
- Fundamental technical competencies in analytical protein methodologies: Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), UV-Vis spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, protein purification, and basic chemistry skills for protein modifications
- Experience with capillary electrophoresis (plus)
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; deep understanding of biophysical/biochemical characterization; analytical method development experience desirable
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 0β2 years post-degree lab experience focused on protein characterization and conjugation
