Position Overview
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Epidemiology, you will study viral immune and autoimmune responses following Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) infection and how these responses may lead to multiple sclerosis (MS). You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from EBV and neurology, including clinical development and epidemiology.

Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Develop statistical models of host and immune response variables predictive of MS in matched case-control studies.
- Identify and implement analytic methods (e.g., machine learning, group-based trajectory models) for large datasets (>6,000 variables) for exploratory serology analyses.
- Explore external datasets to replicate and validate findings.
- Collaborate with internal and external scientists on the role of immune responses in the EBV–MS relationship.
- Evaluate internal and external data sources characterizing the burden of MS and other autoimmune diseases and their relationship with EBV.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.

Required
- PhD completed within 6 months of hire in epidemiology/biostatistics; infectious diseases or related field.
- Interest in infectious disease and vaccines.
- Experience identifying and implementing appropriate statistical models.
- Experience with R, SAS, or Stata.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.

Preferred
- Knowledge in immunology, pharmacoepidemiology, neurology, and/or oncology.
- Advanced analytic methods (AI/machine learning).
- Molecular epidemiology experience (serology and omics analyses).
- Experience with large real-world healthcare data sources (e.g., insurance/administrative claims).
