Associate Scientist โ€“ In Vivo Pharmacology, Oncology

What You Will Do
Work onsite at Amgenโ€™s South San Francisco campus as part of an integrated, collaborative in vivo research team exploring therapeutics for oncology programs. Generate and communicate in vivo pharmacology data to support oncology and immunotherapy research.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on in vivo work in mice: handling, tumor inoculation and measurement, dosing (oral, SC, IP, IV), blood and tissue collection, and health monitoring.
- Perform necropsies and support ex vivo tissue work (dissection, processing, sample preparation, experimental readouts).
- Perform in vitro work including multiparametric flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques.
- Communicate results, maintain accurate study records, and present data.
- Participate in cross-departmental team meetings and presentations.
- Participate in dosing rotations, including occasional evening or weekend work.

Basic Qualifications:
- Masterโ€™s degree and 2+ years in in-vivo rodent work
OR Bachelorโ€™s degree and 4+ years
OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Oncology/Biology (or related) or BS with relevant scientific/drug discovery experience.
- Hands-on cancer in vivo model experience and pharmacology experience.
- Mouse technique proficiency (dosing, in vivo PK/PD/efficacy, monitoring, blood/tissue collection), preferably for small molecule oncology.
- Experience with PDX models; in vivo bioluminescence imaging (BLI).
- Strong flow cytometry and multi-parametric analysis experience.
- Molecular/cellular/ex vivo assay experience; computer literacy (GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, scientific software).
- Attention to detail, organizational/communication skills, accurate record keeping and data analysis.
