Position Summary
Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the In Vivo Pharmacology group supporting Oncology and Immunology discovery programs. Design and execute preclinical in vivo studies focused on tumor models and immune-mediated disease systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Laboratory-based role requiring routine animal work.
- Design and conduct in vivo studies in murine models of cancer and immune-mediated diseases (e.g., inflammation, autoimmune models).
- Perform compound dosing (IV, IP, SC), tumor measurements, clinical scoring, and animal monitoring.
- Perform complex animal procedures (e.g., tumor implantation, immune cell transfers, longitudinal sampling).
- Operate independently with IVIS imaging.
- Collect and analyze experimental data (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel).
- Troubleshoot experiments.
- Maintain accurate electronic lab notebook (ELN) records.
- Prepare study summaries, contribute to data presentations, and support documentation.
- Collaborate with Oncology and Immunology project teams; present findings and contribute to strategy.
- Interface with external collaborators or CROs.
- Ensure compliance with BMS policies and IACUC/animal welfare standards.
- Maintain lab supplies, equipment, and study materials.
- Participate in continuous improvement of in vivo models/workflows.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s in Immunology, Oncology, Pharmacology, or related field.
- Typically 2+ years relevant in vivo experience (industry preferred).
- Hands-on rodent handling and in vivo pharmacology.
- Proficiency in dosing and sample collection (IV/IP injections, blood/tissue harvest).
- Experience with oncology tumor and/or immunology disease models.
- Strong IVIS imaging experience.
- Strong data analysis/organizational skills, scientific curiosity, problem-solving; attention to detail and data integrity.
- Effective communication and teamwork; manage multiple studies in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in matrixed, cross-functional teams; familiarity with imaging/biomarkers/molecular assays (desired).
