About The Role:
Assess drug effects to support therapeutic approaches targeting immunity and inflammation in disease progression across immunology diseases, neurodegenerative and movement disorders. Assist in designing, developing, and validating cell-based functional assays and rodent disease model development to test molecule activities, investigate mechanisms of action, and generate preclinical evidence for future clinical testing.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
- Assist experiments using cells (primary human leukocytes, human primary cells/cell lines, mouse splenocytes, iPCS-derived microglia) and biochemical assays
- Under supervision, generate data using complex assay systems; apply advanced data analysis and statistical tests
- Develop advanced cell-based assays (human whole blood, human/rodent primary cells, co-culture, ex vivo tissues)
- Set up in vitro assays to study innate/adaptive immune cell functions and cell-cell interactions
- Perform color flow cytometry (intracellular staining; prepare for cell sorting) and flow cytometry data analysis
- Follow SOPs; write data summaries and present results clearly; analyze and communicate findings to teams
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- BS/BA (biological sciences; neuroscience/immunology/pharmacology preferred) with experience in cell culture/handling, in-vitro assay design, and some ex-vivo rodent tissue processing
- MS/MA (biological sciences; neuroscience/immunology/pharmacology preferred) with some experience noted above
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic graphical/statistical software
- Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, planning/organization; meeting deadlines; attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Aseptic handling of cell lines and human primary cells
- Biochemistry assays experience and strong immunohistology knowledge
- Lab techniques: MSD, ELISA, IHC, ICC (required)
- Ability to execute experiments efficiently; suggest process improvements; recognize data patterns/inconsistencies
- Knowledge of scientific principles/methods/techniques and laboratory equipment/tools
- Experience with human PBMC isolation, lymphocyte proliferation/activation, cytokine secretion, differentiation assays
- Basic molecular biology: mRNA/protein isolation; TagMan, NanoString, scRNAseq (highly desirable)
- Animal handling, multiple dosing routes, tissue collection (plus)

Benefits (as stated):
- Annual bonus (target 15% of earned base salary) and eligibility for equity-based long-term incentive program
- Retirement savings plan (with company match); paid vacation/holidays/personal days; paid caregiver/parental and medical leave; medical/prescription drug/dental/vision coverage
