Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement in vivo testing of multispecific biologics, small molecules, and siRNAs to support Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease projects
- Independently identify and solve technical problems; implement new assays and workflows
- Ensure consistency and quality of technical reports
- Collaborate with colleagues at various AbbVie sites
- Present original work internally and at internal/external scientific conferences; may author/co-author peer-reviewed papers or patents

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Scientist II: Bachelor’s degree with typically 3+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree (no additional experience)
- Scientist I: BSc or MS in Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, or related discipline with typically 5+ years (BSc) or 3+ years (MS) in industry and/or academia
- Proven track record in multidisciplinary in vivo pharmacology teams
- Experience with in vivo neurodegeneration models, particularly Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
- Proven track record characterizing complex biotherapeutics in vivo (biologics, small molecules, siRNA)
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a dynamic cross-functional matrix environment
- Goal-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong “can-do” attitude

Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in receptor and/or transporter biology
- Background in brain barriers biology
- Prior pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
- Experience with ex vivo readouts (immunohistochemistry; ELISA, WB biochemistry)
- Experience with image analysis
