Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lab-based tasks independently and generate reliable results.
- Conduct in vitro assays and work with radio labeled compounds.
- Optimize procedures/protocols to improve productivity (with input from senior scientists).
- Perform sample preparation for analysis (LC, MS, scintillation).
- Independently operate LC and MS instruments and collect data for Discovery/Development studies across Thermo and Sciex platforms.
- Learn and apply new experimental techniques; modify protocols as research/development needs change.
- Provide scientific context by consulting/citing relevant literature.
- Understand and adhere to standards for safety and handling of controlled drugs/radioactive compounds and GxP compliance (where applicable).
- Maintain accurate, current experimental records per company policies.
- Communicate findings: present data clearly in meetings; provide written summary reports as needed.
- Document work using electronic data acquisition/management systems; analyze/critique results and troubleshoot experiments/instrumentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent) with typically 3+ yearsโ experience, or Masterโs degree (or equivalent) with no additional experience.
- Highly preferred: practical/theoretical knowledge and experience in chromatography and/or mass spectrometry.
- Excellent oral and communication skills.
