Summary
Associate Scientist to support development of novel therapeutics in preclinical stages.
Responsibilities
- Execute multi-step synthetic routes; optimize reaction conditions; isolate and characterize organic compounds (chromatography, NMR, MS, IR spectroscopy).
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across diverse disciplines.
- Document research activities and present findings clearly.
- Execute experimental plans; troubleshoot synthetic challenges; contribute to optimization of lead compounds.
Education and Experience
- BS or MS in Chemistry or related field with strong understanding of organic and analytical chemistry.
- 1–5 years of experience in organic synthesis, chemistry, or analytical laboratory preferred.
Skills and Qualifications (Required/Preferred)
- Strong synthetic skills and knowledge of lab techniques.
- Proficiency in compound synthesis, purification, and characterization (LCMS, HPLC, NMR).
- Familiarity with ChemDraw, SciFinder, and Reaxys.
- Adaptable and flexible; able to handle multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Self-motivated; good interpersonal skills; able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills (lab notebook, reports, presentations).
- Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry; peptide synthesis experience a plus.
- Uses AI tools to enhance individual productivity and quality of work.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- San Diego, CA: $77,846–$94,332 (full-time).
