Associate Scientist I (MPDD) β€” Solid State Chemist/Materials Scientist

Responsibilities:
- Independently execute solid-state activities: polymorph screening, salt screening, and materials characterization to support pipeline projects.
- Support API crystallization, isolation, and milling process development for timely clinical deliveries.
- Interpret and troubleshoot data by evaluating experiments/instrumentation and proposing experiments.
- Lead/support lab safety, lab management, instrument maintenance, and laboratory operations.
- Learn and implement new experimental techniques/protocols; use literature to contextualize data.
- Maintain excellent documentation (ELNs, test methods, protocols).
- Present results in team meetings and communicate findings clearly.
- Adhere to corporate standards for safety, material handling, GxP compliance, and controlled drug/radioactive compounds (and animal care where applicable).

Qualifications:
- BS with 0–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry (Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Materials Science preferred).

Preferred:
- Working knowledge of drug substance physical properties, polymorphism, and solid-state characterization (e.g., particle size, microscopy, flowability, surface area, thermal analysis, PXRD).
- Strong oral/written communication, organizational/planning, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate cross-functionally.
