Associate Scientist I, In Vivo Research

Responsibilities:
- Perform in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development in various diseases
- Establish new preclinical animal disease models
- Perform animal behavior studies as needed
- Coordinate processes across departments and with outside vendors to enable efficient study execution and data generation
- Read and apply relevant scientific literature to projects to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Present research findings to project teams and prepare technical reports
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments

Requirements:
- BS and/or MS in biology related field
- 2+ years of extensive experience with small animal handling
- Excellent record keeping and experience in data analysis, graphing and presentation
- Ability to work independently and to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Demonstrated innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment

Preferred:
- Experience with CNS surgeries and/or drug administration locally in CNS
- Experience with in vivo epilepsy and/or migraine models
- Preclinical disease model development in the context of drug discovery

Compensation/Benefits:
- California pay range: $65,000 USD - $75,000 USD
