Role Summary
Associate Scientist – Flow Cytometry to join Regeneron’s Research Flow Cytometry Core (RFCC). The RFCC provides sorting, analysis, and maintenance services to Regeneron’s Research Departments. In this role, you will perform sorting experiments for the research staff, maintain analytical instruments across multiple buildings on Regeneron’s campus, and analyze data using flow cytometric software programs.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring proper maintenance, alignment, and calibration of cell sorting equipment
- Analyzing flow cytometric data
- Maintaining and organizing schedules for cell sorting equipment
- Maintaining adequate inventory of flow cytometry supplies and reagents
- Supporting maintenance of flow cytometry equipment, such as LSRFortessa X-20, FACSymphony A3/A5, FACSDiscovery A8, Aurora, CytoFLEX (LX), IntelliCyt iOue, and Amnis ImageStreamX MkII cytometers
- Operating a Sony MA900, FACSFusion, FACSymphony S6, and FACSDiscovery S8 high-speed cell sorters
Qualifications
- Required: BS or MS in a scientific field
- Required: 1–3 years of relevant experience using cytometric instrumentation
- Required: Flexibility to perform flow cytometric duties that expedite and support scientific staff's flow cytometric goals and objectives
- Preferred: Experimental laboratory work and cytometry sorting is strongly preferred
- Preferred: Experience with cell sorting, tissue culture, cytometry staining, assay development, and data analysis is advantageous
- Preferred: Analytical problem-solving experience
- Preferred: Ability to critically analyze and troubleshoot scientific problems
- Preferred: Customer-centric viewpoint
- Preferred: Good scientific initiative and ability to multi-task, prioritize work and balance multiple projects
- Preferred: Ability to work independently but also within a collaborative team environment and flexibility to work on changing priorities
