Associate Scientist, Data II

AbbVie Information Research is seeking an Associate Data Scientist II to contribute to the architecture, design, and development of the Data & Analytics Platform supporting R&D at AbbVie. Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, program managers, business analysts, infrastructure teams, and service providers to deliver data and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks competently and independently; generate reliable and consistent results.
- Learn and understand data engineering activities including data warehousing, master data management, data cataloging, system integration, data streaming, data visualization, data analysis, and data ops.
- Learn and understand pharmaceutical R&D/Life Science datasets.
- Produce and maintain required technical documentation.
- Learn and contribute to the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data & analytics platforms, system integrations, data pipelines, data models, and API integrations.
- Adhere to corporate standards and policies (code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, software development lifecycle).

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years’ experience; or Master’s degree with 0 years’ experience.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Data analysis programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python & Apache Spark, SAS, R).
- Knowledge and practical experience in cloud platforms, knowledge graph, Elastic search, data streaming, and LLM models.

Preferred:
- Experience with Pharmaceutical R&D industry-centric datasets.
- Experience with cloud platforms, MPP engines, graph databases, and search.
