Associate Scientist, Biochemistry

How you will make an impact:
- Receive, label, store, and report customer samples.
- Perform chromatography of customer samples via FPLC and 2D-PAGE.
- Analyze 2D-PAGE data with spot counting software and write reports.
- Author SOPs and develop new data analysis tools.
- Maintain lab instruments and consumable steady state levels.
- Maintain sample inventory; defrost refrigerators and freezers.
- Dispose of hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS.
- Place purchase orders via ERP software.
- Record data in lab notebooks and data binders; present data at lab meetings.
- Perform buffer exchange and sample concentrations.
- Develop and optimize workflows; prepare LC solvents in scheduled intervals.
- Perform Mass Spectrometer calibrations; document run data.
- Perform Proteomics sample preparation for Mass Spectrometry projects.
- Prepare MS operation standards and assess control performance against acceptance criteria.
- Perform other functions and duties as required.

The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or similar Life Science.
- BS with 2 years of experience, or AS with 4 years of experience.
- Experience documenting work in laboratory notebooks; GLP/GDP experience a plus.
- Experience running FPLC, HPLC, UHPLC, or LC-MS.
- Executing protocols and analyzing data a plus.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
