Role Summary

Associate Scientist, Analytical Development and Support. Location: Redmond, WA. Just-Evotec is seeking a curious, problem-solving scientist to join our Analytical Development and Support team. You will drive impactful projects, collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, and help advance analytical methods for biotherapeutics through H/UPLC and capillary-based separations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute H/UPLC and capillary-based separation methods for process development, cell line development, and release testing of biotherapeutics.
  • Utilize chromatography data systems and informatics platforms to analyze and distribute analytical results.
  • Work with team members on technology development to improve efficiency, speed, and capacity of analytical testing and analytical methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and solutions.
  • Bring fresh perspectives to the analytical team that challenge the status quo.
  • Regularly share findings, ideas, and solutions in team settings and presentations.
  • Stay current with trends in characterization and analysis of large molecules using H/UPLC and capillary-based methods, and apply that knowledge to inspire and lead.
  • Ensure curiosity-driven questions and exploration lead to measurable, impactful results.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering or related field with minimal relevant experience.
  • Required: A curious problem-solver with a passion for learning and growing in a dynamic environment.
  • Required: Experience in chromatography and/or analytical chemistry.
  • Required: Excellent experimental design, method development, and analysis skills.
  • Required: Experience with Microsoft Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Required: Experience with HPLC and/or UPLC chromatography systems.
  • Required: Experience with a chromatography data system.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with capillary electrophoresis and troubleshooting complex instrumentation.
  • Preferred: Desire to work in a fast, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred: Natural collaborator who enjoys sharing ideas and learning from others.
  • Preferred: Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in environments that encourage curiosity and experimentation.
  • Preferred: Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to share complex ideas clearly.
