Role Summary

Associate Scientist responsible for synthesis of oligonucleotides on automated synthesizers, purification and characterization using standard and advanced instrumentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to drive Regeneron chemistry programs.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesis of variable lengths and formats of oligonucleotides on automated synthesizers, incorporating novel or standard amidites and ligands on and off bead.
  • Applying ideas from different addresses to solve complex chemical problems.
  • Performing purification and characterization using conventional and industry-leading instrumentation.
  • Ensure optimal functionality of synthesizers and maintain related supplies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive the success of RGM Chemistry programs.

Qualifications

  • Required: Education: B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Required: Coursework/Laboratory Experience: Organic chemistry or biochemistry classes and labs.
  • Required: Work Ethic: Hardworking, critical thinking skills, and a teamwork mindset.
  • Preferred: Undergraduate research experience or internship experience.
  • Preferred: Synthesis experience (e.g., oligonucleotide, peptide, etc.).
  • Preferred: Analytical experience, including proficiency in techniques such as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Anion Exchange Chromatography (AEX), and Reverse-Phase Chromatography (RP).
