Associate Scientist (Drug Product Development and Technology)
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute phase-appropriate formulation development studies (formulation screening, stability, compatibility) for early- and late-stage programs.
- Conduct biochemical and biophysical assessments and pre-formulation studies for evaluation of preclinical drug candidates.
- Characterize lyophilized or liquid drug product formulations to support process development and manufacturing of clinical drug substance and drug products.
- Provide technical support for development, technology transfer, and manufacture of drug substance and drug products; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and qualify analytical methods for critical quality attributes to support formulation development, drug product process development, and stability testing.
- Document findings and lab records in an electronic laboratory notebook per organizational best practices.
- Author protocols and technical documents for internal use and support regulatory filings.
- Participate in meetings and present study results.
- Support general laboratory and instrument maintenance.
Qualifications / Skills:
- BS or MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; 0–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
- Ability to design and execute experiments and interpret, document, and communicate results with minimal supervision.
- Strong foundation in protein/peptide chemistry and biophysical/biochemical characterization.
- Desirable: bioanalytical method development and biomolecule product development.
- Desirable hands-on experience with: SEC/IEX/RP chromatography, viscosity, gel electrophoresis (CE-SDS, MCE, cIEF, iCE), particle sizing (DLS, HIAC, MFI), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, CD, AUC, fluorescence), and thermostability (DSC, DSF).
