Role Summary
Associate Scientist in Regeneron’s Early Career Exploration Program (ECEP). This is a full-time opportunity for former Regeneron interns or recent graduates with a BS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field to explore multiple positions within Regeneron’s Research & Pre-Clinical Development (R&D) function and build foundational knowledge in biotechnology. The program offers 3–6 month assignments across various R&D functions, runs up to 2 years, and provides centralized mentorship and developmental opportunities with the goal of securing permanent placement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct basic laboratory work including pipetting, culturing, and qPCR
- Work with automated systems including robotic liquid handlers
- Maintain cell cultures
- Assist with small and large-scale protein expression using bacteria, insect cells, and other systems
- Participate in journal clubs and data presentation
- Perform routine molecular biology techniques such as plasmid and bacmid purification and baculovirus production
- Perform protein biochemical analysis
- Conduct protein purification (affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion) and biochemical and biophysical analysis
- Analyze experimental data and assess quality
- Write standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate senior who will graduate with or have a BS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field by Spring 2026
- Applicants graduating Fall/Winter 2025 will be considered but may have a delayed start date
- Preference given to former Regeneron R&D interns
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
- Multi-tasking, prioritization, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Growth mindset and flexibility to work in a changing environment
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Willingness to work on-site at Regeneron HQ in Tarrytown, NY
