Sanofi is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the Bioprocess Analytics group within Mammalian Bioanalytics, located in Framingham, MA. The Associate Scientist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on multiple projects to support development and optimization of novel analytical methods, including routine testing, for R&D programs within Sanofi. This entry level position will offer the ideal candidate the opportunity to explore and grow their skills in several analytical disciplines while working with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. The goal of all these activities is to enable rapid progression of multiple therapeutic candidates into the clinic.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support development of cutting-edge technologies and analytical method platforms such as HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, cIEF and immunological assays.
  • Provide analytical testing support in a variety of testing platforms, in a non-GMP setting, supporting R&D Biologics Development.
  • Manage work assignments, analyze and interpret test results, and conduct necessary troubleshooting under the supervision of the manager.
  • Assist in the drafting of technical reports, study protocols, and results and effectively communicate progress and results with the team.
  • Maintain good communication and collaboration with internal colleagues.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences field.
  • A degree in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment.
  • Well-organized, strong scientific curiosity, self-motivated, hard-working and detail-oriented individual able to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC, cIEF or other protein separation techniques.
  • Basics understanding in data processing software such as Empower, Chromeleon, or OpenLab.
  • Experience with executing assays in a GLP/GxP regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
  • Experience in automated liquid handlers.
  • Experience with impurity-based assays including ELISA and qPCR.
