Role Summary

Associate Scientist for Regeneron’s Early Career Exploration Program (ECEP). Full-time opportunity for recent graduates with a BS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field to explore multiple positions across Regeneron’s Research & Pre-Clinical Development (R&D) function and build foundational knowledge in biotechnology. Program runs up to 2 years with assignments 3–6 months each and likely permanent placement after completion.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic laboratory work including pipetting, culturing, and qPCR
  • Operate automated systems including robotic liquid handlers
  • Maintain cell cultures
  • Assist with small and large-scale protein expression using bacteria, insect cells, and other systems
  • Participate in journal clubs and data presentation
  • Perform routine molecular biology techniques such as plasmid and bacmid purification and baculovirus production
  • Perform protein biochemical analysis
  • Conduct protein purification (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion) and biochemical and biophysical analysis
  • Analyze experimental data and assess quality
  • Write standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents

Qualifications

  • Required: Current undergraduate senior graduating with or having a BS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field by Spring 2026 (Fall/Winter 2025 graduates eligible with potential delayed start)
  • Preferred: Former Regeneron R&D interns are given hiring preference
