Associate Scientist / Histology Technician (Pathology Lab, TSRS)
Responsibilities:
- Perform histology specimen preparation workflows, including required documentation in laboratory information systems/databases and team communications.
- Perform basic and advanced histology procedures: fixation and tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, special stains, coverslipping, slide scanning, and slide QC.
- Review work for accuracy and adherence to departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
- Ensure equipment is functional and maintained; follow lab safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 1 year of experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in a Biological Science program with 3 years of pathology laboratory experience.
- HT (ASCP) or HLT (ASCP) certification preferred.
- Industry experience in histopathology/pathobiology.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of histology-based methodologies and equipment.
- Experience with documentation and laboratory information management systems.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent interaction/brainstorming.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills.
