Associate Scientific Technical Engineer II, PDS&T CMC

Role: AI-native Data Engineer within AbbVie's biopharma CMC and manufacturing ecosystem, focusing on designing, building, and operating production-grade data pipelines and products to enable AI/ML, analytics, and automation across enterprise biologics pipelines. Responsibilities: develop scalable data ingestion pipelines from diverse manufacturing and development systems (MES, LIMS, QMS, ERP), implement data harmonization and semantic models, enforce data quality and governance per GxP standards, deliver governed data assets for AI/ML (feature stores, curated datasets), and support cloud-based platform infrastructure. Collaborate with scientists, process engineers, and AI teams to translate data requirements into reliable infrastructure and improve data-driven decision-making impacting regulatory submissions, manufacturing, and commercial readiness. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field plus 2 years' experience or Master’s degree with no experience; expert in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern data tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow). Experience with enterprise data modeling, API standards, and GxP data principles preferred. High-value: biopharma manufacturing, biologics development, regulated environment, focus on data pipelines supporting AI/ML applications, and enterprise-scale scope.
