Associate Scientific Fellow, Process Chemistry

Role: Associate Scientific Fellow in Process Chemistry, focusing on development of synthetic molecule manufacturing processes for late-stage drug candidates at Takeda's Cambridge site. Responsibilities: lead design and development of robust, scalable synthetic routes, guide internal and external teams, and ensure process transfer and lifecycle management; mentor colleagues and contribute to scientific publications and conferences; identify and mitigate process risks; collaborate across SMPD, Pharm Sci, and commercial units; manage external partnerships with CDMOs and academic collaborators. Requirements: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD with 7+ to 15+ years in pharmaceutical process chemistry, with deep expertise in cGMP-active pharmaceutical ingredients, late-stage development, and synthetic chemistry. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary. Preferred: extensive multidisciplinary experience, leadership in scientific strategy, and external engagement.
