Accountabilities:
- Provide scientific leadership in synthetic molecule process development.
- Provide in-lab mentorship and technical guidance; model best practices and review technical approaches.
- Lead and execute complex strategies across multiple late-stage programs (personal lab work + guide internal/external teams).
- Design and advance robust, scalable drug substance manufacturing processes aligned to safety, sustainability, cost, and quality.
- Own technical responsibility for programs/initiatives; integrate process understanding into development and manufacturing readiness.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate scientific/process risks.
- Develop innovative solutions; apply emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration (SMPD, Pharm Sci, commercial) and manage external partnerships (CDMOs, academics, consultants).
- Analyze experimental data to build mechanistic understanding and define forward-looking strategies.
- Support scientific strategy via initiatives, technical leadership, publications/patents, and conference participation.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- B.S. + 15+ years; M.S. + 13+ years; PhD + 7+ years relevant industry experience.
- Extensive CMC pharmaceutical development experience (API/drug products) under cGMP.
- Deep expertise in synthetic molecule process chemistry and late-stage process development.
- Strong cGMP understanding; cross-functional, multidisciplinary leadership; data-driven problem solving; clear technical communication.
Travel: 5β10%.
Compensation/Benefits (U.S.): Base salary range $154,400β$242,550; may include incentives and medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, well-being benefits; up to 80 hours sick time/year and up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires.
