Key Objectives / Deliverables
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage project timelines, deliverables tracking, and workflow coordination across all three pillars of Scientific Innovation Communications. Track milestones, deadlines, and executive engagements; align resources. Support material development, media engagement support, quarterly reporting updates, research projects, and similar tactics.
SURGE CAPACITY: Provide flexible, cross-pillar support during high-intensity periods (e.g., congress seasons, major data readouts, executive visibility moments). Develop content, coordinate logistics, and support execution as directed by pillar leads.
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT: Develop and maintain operational tools, templates, and processes to improve efficiency and consistency. Support planning cycles, budget tracking, and vendor/agency coordination.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: Lead or support special projects (e.g., research, competitive analysis, content development, media materials, new capability pilots) as assigned by AVP/pillar leads.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION: Coordinate information flow across pillars and manage cross-pillar dependencies.
MEASUREMENT AND REPORTING: Support communications measurement dashboards and reporting (media metrics, narrative penetration, engagement data).
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT: Build broad exposure to Scientific Innovation Communications, including data communications, consumer science, executive storytelling, and multiple therapeutic areas.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in communications, public relations, journalism, science, or related field
- 1+ year of communications, project management, or related professional experience
- Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas.
Additional Skills / Preferences
- Strong organizational/project management; excellent written/verbal communication
- Interest in pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare communications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, track complex workstreams, meet deadlines
- Fast-paced environment; collaborative, proactive, detail-oriented; comfortable with ambiguity
- Familiarity with project management tools/processes; curiosity about science and drug development/therapeutic areas
- Interest in building a career in science/strategic communications
