As an Associate, Procurement Operations supporting the Supply Chain team, you will primarily be responsible for supporting procurement activities through data management, supplier communications, and reporting. You will mentor team members, tackle complex challenges, and apply specialized knowledge to achieve project goals. The Procurement Specialist will create, maintain and support vendor master data ensuring good data quality is available for Alcon purchasing department. In this role, a typical day will include: Create/maintain Alcon 3rd party vendor master data in the operating systems. Upon receipt of new ticket, validate the request for data completeness Review suppliers to be added to the database for duplication Obtain approval for supplier to be added, modified or deleted from the database per the process SOP Capture the supplier set-up, maintenance, and adding and/or deletions and/or update notes in the system's audit trail Follow the standard operating procedure to capture the data in respective master data tools. Coordinate with requestor upon receipt of new supplier request to confirm that adding new supplier is aligned with Local & Global procurement procedures. Process requests to cleanse and edit existing supplier data Respond to internal inquiries related to vendor master data Supports transitions and knowledge transfer Operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions Coordinate with local teams & business functions to provide seamless service Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for related policies and processes Support the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets Proactively challenge the Status Quo, making fact based recommendations Compliance Adhere to agreed SOP with no deviations. Ensure all processes, policies & procedures are clearly defined and documented Promote a strong and control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Education: Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Administration, Economics or related.)
