Role Summary

Associate Principal, TechBio Discovery Biology. Lead and advance an AI-driven portfolio of therapeutic candidates within the Discovery Biology team, contributing to oncology programs and the evolution of tech-enabled drug discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute oncology strategy by integrating traditional drug discovery with computational approaches.
  • Lead scientific initiatives to deliver small molecule programs from hit to candidate selection and IND submission.
  • Contribute to target insight generation, patient refinement and patient selection strategies across early discovery programs and improve the Recursion OS.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant biological or chemical science (e.g., Molecular Biology, Oncology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry) with at least 5+ years of experience in tech-forward biotech or pharma.
  • Proven track record in drug discovery with experience leading oncology programs from early discovery to clinical candidate stage.
  • Experience with modern drug discovery approaches, including AI/ML-driven platforms, high-throughput screening, and omics data analysis; systems biology mindset.
  • Strong understanding of the oncology landscape, modalities, emerging targets, and clinical development challenges.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Ability to deliver impactful presentations and memos to executives, program teams, KOLs, and external partners; strategic and tactical thinker who can prioritize and solve complex problems.
