Role: Associate Principal Scientist in Biologics Process Development focused on upstream process development for biologics pipelines. Responsibilities include leading or participating in the design, development, and optimization of high-yield, scalable cell culture processes for recombinant protein production, including process characterization and regulatory filings. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Discovery, Cell Line Development, Downstream Processing, Analytical Sciences, and Manufacturing teams to develop integrated, robust manufacturing solutions aligned with quality by design principles, and advancing process technologies through innovation. Qualifications: Ph.D. with 4+ years, Master's with 8+ years, or Bachelor's with 12+ years in chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related fields. Required skills include hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, CHO cell biology, bioreactor operation, statistical data analysis, and process transfer. Preferred expertise encompasses advanced process monitoring technologies, data science applications, and late-stage process development. The position entails active external engagement through publishing and patenting, with a focus on biologics, particularly recombinant proteins, and involves 10% travel. Located in a hybrid work setting, the role supports regulatory filings and commercialization efforts within the biologics CMC development cycle.
