Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific leadership for design, development, and optimization of scalable API processes across multiple programs, emphasizing flow chemistry and continuous processing.
- Lead hands-on flow chemistry laboratory experimentation to develop robust, sustainable, efficient transformations and manufacturing processes.
- Influence route design; solve complex chemistry, engineering, and manufacturing challenges using mechanistic understanding, innovative process design, and data-driven decisions.
- Support process characterization, scale-up, technology transfer, and API campaigns at lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales with cross-functional partners.
- Mentor scientists and colleagues new to flow chemistry/continuous processing; foster scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Contribute to the scientific community through publications, patents, presentations, and professional engagement.
Education (Minimum):
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 4+ years industrial experience post-Ph.D., including small-molecule process chemistry success using flow chemistry.
- Strong organic synthesis, flow chemistry, and continuous processing; hands-on flow experimentation.
- Ability to design, develop, and optimize practical scalable processes; apply flow/continuous technologies to enable new transformations and solve process challenges.
- Experience with automation for continuous-flow development (highly valued).
- Proven cross-disciplinary collaboration; effective technical communication (scientific and non-scientific).
- Strong written communication; self-initiative; subject-matter expert capability; demonstrated scientific impact.
