Associate Principal Engineer - Analytics Platform

Role: Associate Principal Engineer – Cloud Platform, responsible for designing and developing cloud-based products and services to support Exelixis's technology infrastructure. Responsibilities include defining the cloud platform architecture, implementing automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and AWS account provisioning. The role involves guiding complex projects, refining development processes, and serving as a technical expert on cloud strategy, security, and compliance. It requires collaboration with application support teams, stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring operational excellence, documentation, and long-term platform value. Qualifications: Master’s degree with 9+ years or Bachelor’s with 11+ years of relevant experience; at least 10 years in cloud infrastructure, preferably in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, FDA, SOX). Technical skills include advanced AWS services (EC2, RDS, IAM), infrastructure as code (Terraform), automation, and modern devops practices. Knowledge of analytics platforms (Posit, Tableau, Spotfire) is valued. The candidate must demonstrate strong product ownership, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities. The position is based in a hybrid office setting with minimal travel, offering a competitive salary range of $182,000 to $259,000, along with comprehensive benefits and bonus programs.
