Summary/Job Purpose
- Design and create cloud-based products and services. Define and design the cloud platform (automation/standards, CI/CD, DevOps tooling, AWS account provisioning automation) and redefine interfaces with application installation/configuration.
Responsibilities
- Translate strategy across functions; support long-range goals; act as resource/direction for others.
- Help define and evolve enterprise data/analytics platform strategy/roadmap: governed data access, reusable data products, self-service enablement, AI readiness.
- Guide complex programs; refine end-to-end development (ideation→CI/CD, security scanning, production monitoring).
- Solve unusually complex technical problems; provide innovative solutions.
- Lead architecture/delivery of core data platform capabilities: ingestion, transformation, metadata, governed access, data quality, analytics-ready layers.
- Ensure scalability, reuse, governance, and AI enablement.
- Partner with platform engineering, governance, security, and domain teams; align stakeholders around a shared vision.
- Oversee infrastructure/work instruction documentation; mitigate future incidents.
- Define standards for metadata, data quality, governance, and reliability; embed governance/compliance/security into architecture/operating model.
- Serve as SME; mentor/coach; assess industry trends.
Qualifications
- Master’s + 9 years, or Bachelor’s + 11 years, or equivalent.
- At least 10 years in cloud infrastructure and/or enterprise data platforms in highly available production environments.
- SOX/FDA regulated environment experience (plus); life sciences experience (strong plus).
Required/Preferred Skills
- Advanced AWS (data storage/processing/analytics/security/compute).
- Advanced IaC (Terraform); intermediate cloud/infrastructure automation; CI/CD practices.
- Strong Databricks/lakehouse (governance, metadata, data quality); Python, SQL, Spark, dbt.
- Lakehouse on AWS tech (Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, Athena) and Databricks; Spark, Iceberg, Delta Tables; IAM.
- Professional AWS and Databricks certifications highly valued.
