Clinical Research and Development
Responsibilities:
- Synthesize, purify, and analyze modified oligonucleotides, conjugates, and small molecules to advance project goals
- Champion an effective and proactive safety culture
- Independently troubleshoot synthetic challenges and drive continuous improvement of laboratory workflows
- Maintain high laboratory productivity, including operation and maintenance of an oligonucleotide synthesizer and/or other scientific equipment
- Collaborate across disciplines to execute focused experiments and deliver shared project goals
- Interpret and communicate structure-activity relationships and generate new oligonucleotide-based designs
- Search relevant chemical/scientific literature and implement new strategies and techniques
- Accurately document procedures and communicate results via presentations and written reports
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Chemistry (or related field) with 1–2 years of experience in synthetic organic and/or oligonucleotide chemistry
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis; experience operating/troubleshooting automated solid-phase synthesizers; optimize synthetic protocols
- Small-molecule organic synthesis (strategy design, reaction optimization, work-up/purification, characterization such as NMR/MS)
- Optimize purification protocols for oligonucleotides
- Bioconjugation chemistry experience (peptides or oligonucleotides)
- Analytical/physicochemical characterization (e.g., mass spectrometry, separation techniques, other biophysical/biochemical methods)
- Excellent record keeping and communication; confident, execution-focused, team-oriented
