Role Summary

Responsible for providing interim coverage of open sales territories, including all aspects of sales territory management—selling specialty Neurology products to Movement Disorder Specialists and Neurologists. Able to move within the U.S. as business needs dictate. Interim coverage spans 1–6 months at a time, with potential reassignment; after 12 months, eligibility to apply for a full-time, long-term territory assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively engage existing and new customers by delivering value and service to help providers identify and start appropriate patients on therapy.
  • Educate physicians and staff on the value of the company’s products for patient care.
  • Deliver meaningful customer experiences using knowledge, critical thinking, and dialogue to foster satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Identify and address healthcare professional objections, questions, and concerns.
  • Gain consistent access to customers using appropriate techniques.
  • Use sales aids and resources per training; tailor materials to customer needs.
  • Develop strong relationships with HCPs, including key opinion leaders, within the territory.
  • Investigate customer concerns and coordinate with staff to resolve issues promptly.
  • Analyze sales potential and execute within the territory to achieve strong results within budgets and policy guidelines.
  • Develop quarterly business/action plans and submit timely reports; maintain accurate expense records.
  • Provide guidance on pricing and reimbursement; liaison with customers on reimbursement questions.
  • Collaborate with sales management, region teammates, and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Attend conferences, trainings, exhibits, meetings, and product launches as required.
  • Lead when appropriate and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude; stay compliant with regulations.
  • May participate in training of new Sales Specialists and in cross-functional projects; mentor junior staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Deep neuroscience and product knowledge; ability to stay informed on local market trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build networks within the neuroscience community.
  • Ability to quickly demonstrate disease state and product knowledge; strong persuasive selling and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to assess territory opportunities and operate with a business-owner mentality to maximize impact quickly.
  • Capability to learn and apply technical/scientific knowledge and business analyses.
  • Organizational initiative and self-motivation; professionalism and integrity in a highly regulated environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, emphasis in life sciences preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • External Candidate Requirements: travel 90% of the time and reside in assigned geographies for 1–6 months at a time.
  • Must be in good standing with the FDA and OIG.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record; willing to drive company-provided car and travel overnight; air travel may be required.
  • Temporary housing in the assigned territory may be necessary; ability to relocate every 3–6 months as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams; strong time management and organizational skills.
