Role Summary

Interim coverage of open sales territories within the United States, selling specialty Neurology products to Movement Disorder Specialists and Neurologists. Travel and geographic flexibility required for 1–6 month assignments, with potential reassignment after each period. After 12 months of successful performance, candidate may apply for a full-time, long-term territory assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively impacts existing and new customers by providing exceptional value and service, helping providers identify and start appropriate patients on therapy.
  • Educates physicians and physicians’ staff on the value of the Company’s products for patient care.
  • Utilizes knowledge, critical thinking, and dialogue skills to deliver meaningful customer experiences that result in satisfaction, equity, and loyalty.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and appropriately addresses healthcare professionals’ objections, questions, and concerns.
  • Utilizes appropriate techniques to gain consistent access to customers.
  • Utilizes appropriate sales aids and clinical reprints, tailoring resources to customer needs.
  • Develops strong relationships with healthcare providers, including key opinion leaders within the territory.
  • Identifies and investigates customer concerns and communicates with appropriate staff to resolve issues promptly.
  • Analyzes sales potential and executes within the territory to achieve strong business results, working within budgets and policy guidelines.
  • Develops and adjusts quarterly business/action plans as needed.
  • Prepares and submits timely reports of business transactions and maintains accurate expense records.
  • Provides guidance on pricing and reimbursement for promoted products; acts as liaison for reimbursement questions.
  • Collaborates with sales management, region/area teammates, and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Attends conferences, trainings, exhibits, meetings, and product launches as required.
  • Takes on leadership opportunities and maintains a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance in all responsibilities.
  • May participate in training of new Sales Specialists and attend Area/Regional/National meetings.
  • May participate in cross-functional projects and provide mentoring to new or junior Sales Specialists.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in life sciences; minimum of 2 years in healthcare sales.
  • Required: Ability to travel 90% of the time and live in assigned geographies for 1–6 months at a time.
  • Required: Must be in good standing with the FDA and OIG.
  • Required: Demonstrated selling skills and ability to dialogue effectively with customers.
  • Required: Ability to quickly build relationships with key customers and networks within the neuroscience community.
  • Required: Ability to live within the assigned territory in temporary housing paid by the company and relocate every 3–6 months as needed.
  • Required: Demonstrate exceptional disease state and product knowledge.
  • Required: Strong persuasive selling and negotiation skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Required: Ability to assess territory opportunities and customer needs with a business-owner mindset to maximize impact in a short timeframe.
  • Required: Ability to learn and apply technical/scientific knowledge and business analyses; organized, self-motivated, and professional.
  • Required: Compliance with policies and ability to handle confidential information; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Required: Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight travel and air travel to company headquarters and events.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, with emphasis in the life sciences; preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 90% of the time (territory-dependent).
  • Ability to temporarily live within the territory for 3–6 months at a time; may require proximity to a major airport.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, handle equipment, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; occasionally lift up to 20 pounds; travel overnight as needed.
