Automation Maintenance Technician (6PM to 6AM)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate technical support for engineering, regulatory, compliance, calibration, quality, microbial/environmental, technical cleaning, validation, electrical, and process automation issues.
- Assist during regulatory agency inspections; provide technical support in response to the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform advanced maintenance or operate/monitor sophisticated plant support equipment in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies; investigate complex issues with mentorship from experienced staff.
- Maintain an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for assigned equipment/systems.
- Evaluate and improve maintenance procedures to optimize the maintenance program; troubleshoot and repair equipment/system failures.
- Interpret and review utility and process system/equipment plans, including plumbing, ductwork, architectural, and HVAC P&IDs.
- Support operations in non-standard shifts, including weekends and/or holidays as determined by business.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Or Associate’s degree and 4 years of Technical Engineering experience
- Or High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Technical Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (skills/experience):
- Education in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- PLC, Computer Serialization, Packaging Equipment, Inspection System understanding
- SCADA/PLC control system experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Biotechnology industry
- Experience supporting Siemens and Rockwell HMI’s, Cognex Vision System, Sensor and Systech Serialization
- Automation system hardware/software support experience, including installation
- Organizational, project management, problem solving, and technical writing skills
- Strong verbal/written communication; collaboration, influencing, facilitation
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Work Schedule:
- Initially first shift (Mon–Fri, ~6:30 am–3:00 pm) for 1–2 months, then move to 12-hour PM 2-2-3 shift; shift coverage across 24-hour operations.
