Role Summary

Associate Medical Writer, Encores (REMOTE). Supports accurate and timely completion/delivery of encore publication submissions while building medical writing knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out and is accountable for all activities related to the preparation and submission of encore Congress publications (ie, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations)
  • Responsible for collecting and retaining all required documentation
  • Manages multiple projects with support from manager
  • Works closely with in-function and cross-functional team(s) to ensure completion of projects
  • Maintains knowledge of requirements and guidance associated with good scientific publications practices and applies concepts to writing projects
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of required systems, software, and processes used by the department
  • Understands and complies with appropriate conventions, proper grammar usage, and correct format requirements, as needed for each writing project following applicable guidelines, templates, and SOPs. Accountable for the overall quality of publication projects assigned.
  • May participate in special projects or initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English or Communications with relevant science expertise or Bachelor's degree in Life Science with relevant writing expertise
  • May have 0-1 years industry experience in medical writing or in a related area such as quality, regulatory, clinical research, or product support
  • Demonstrated ability through previous employment or academics to assimilate and interpret scientific content and translate information for appropriate audiences
  • Developing knowledge of US and international regulations, requirements and guidance associated with document preparation and submissions. Developing knowledge with Common Technical Document content templates. Developing knowledge of current electronic document management systems and information technology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Superior attention to detail. Ability to find and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency, clarity and accuracy. Experience in working with collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Basic functioning knowledge of software programs in Windows environment
