Associate Manufacturing Days – B Shift
What You Will Do
Perform operations in Manufacturing (cell culture) at Amgen’s Rhode Island facility. Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and understand, follow, and document in batch records.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform vessel CIPs, SIPs, sampling, process monitoring, and ATF/RTF/perfusion processes.
- Follow/monitor critical processes; complete routine validation protocols; draft/revise Manufacturing Procedures, SOPs, and technical reports.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and assist with review of documentation for assigned functions.
- May initiate/own area Deviations, revise SOPs, and perform LEAN functions.
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements related to routine functions.
Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shift (7AM–7PM), 2-week rotation, 7 days per rotation (B Shift); average ~14 days on shift/month with every other weekend off. Initial onboarding phase (2–6 weeks): administrative (Mon–Fri, ~8am–5pm).
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications:
- High school/GED + 2 years manufacturing/operations experience OR Associate’s + 6 months manufacturing/operations experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Science/Engineering; knowledge of large-scale biotech (cell culture/aseptic processing); Single-use systems; CFR/Regulatory knowledge; mechanical ability; basic statistics; ability to interpret/apply GMP; analytical methods knowledge; technical writing; project management/presentation; basic chemistry/biology/physics; troubleshooting; Delta V; lab equipment/testing.
