The Associate Engineer, RNA Starting Material MS&T will work in a team focused on lab-scale organic synthesis, purification, analysis, and characterization of nucleoside-based and lipid building blocks of Sarepta’s PMOs, next-generation PMO, and siRNA platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Support commercial supply assurance for RNA starting materials by synthesizing nucleoside reference markers/standards.
- Execute supervised development studies to optimize and troubleshoot syntheses.
- Assess scalability of proposed changes and run experiments to mimic large-scale impacts.
- Participate in technology transfer of improved processes to manufacturing sites.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to support improvements and troubleshooting.
- Perform synthesis and purification (chromatography) of nucleoside analogs for production and development.
- Characterize and manage impurity profiles; determine likely impurity sources/fates and design experiments to test hypotheses.
- Compile, interpret, document, and present data and conclusions.
- Participate in vendor update meetings and provide input on vendor production projects.

Qualifications:
- B.S. (required) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline; 0–2 years related experience.
- Technical competence in organic chemistry; familiarity interpreting data from GC, LC-MS, HPLC, NMR, and KF; HPLC method running experience strongly preferred.
- Able to multitask, work under deadlines, and travel <5% infrequently.
- Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.

Benefits/compensation/application instructions:
- This position requires work on site at a Sarepta facility in the United States.
- Targeted salary range: $62,000–$77,500 per year.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
