The Position
As an Associate Engineer I, Process Engineering, you will play a critical role in process engineering operations and contribute to continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity. Responsibilities include overseeing implementation of process/safety improvements, providing support to the processing team, and equipment management.

Responsibilities
- Process Improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate experimental findings into actionable process improvements.
- Perform experiments with your supervisor to optimize existing processes or develop new ones.
- Participate in process risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Safety
- Participate in hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and process safety assessments.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and safety teams to identify safety improvements.
- Maintain safety systems to keep the process in a ready state and prevent future safety issues.
- Demonstrate and support a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the production team.
- Process Support
- Provide technical support for production operations and assist in resolving manufacturing issues.
- Equipment Management
- Support equipment and process qualification activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment internally when feasible.
- Manage spare part inventory; document repairs/spare parts in BMRAM.
- Documentation Management
- Manage lifecycle of equipment documentation (P&IDs, design documentation, validation documentation, and EQRs).
- Review/update P&IDs for production processes (equipment, instrumentation, piping).
- Follow P&ID change management (version control and documentation updates).
- Reference design/validation documentation to maintain compliance and design intent.
- Additional Duties as required
- Help develop batch records in a GMP environment.
- Occasionally assist with production work.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or related field)
- 0–2 years of experience in process engineering (or similar) in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent technical writing skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work extended periods in a chemical fume hood and stand on feet

Preferred
- Experience through research or internship/co-op
- Experience in a GMP setting with controlled documentation
- Knowledge of safety regulations, process optimization methodologies, and experimental design

Compensation/Benefits
- Wisconsin pay range: $60,000 USD - $70,000 USD
