Cytokinetics Associate Director, US HCP Brand Marketing (AFICAMTEN)

Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact myocardial muscle function and contractility.

In this exciting role, the Associate Director, US HCP Brand Marketing (AFICAMTEN) will not only have a significant impact on the continued and future success of our US business at Cytokinetics, but also the lives of those living with this challenging disease.

You will support planning and implementing critical product strategy and HCP tactics. This role will develop and execute, through in-depth understanding of HCPs, a cohesive plan to execute branded campaign and tactical plans, design and build brand experience initiatives and prepare for the organization’s first product launch.

As an associate director, you will play a critical role in driving the Brand strategy, ensuring the development and executional planning of content, and partner with the customer-facing organizations to inform tactical development and executional excellence. They will work closely with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders. This individual must have the ability to contribute strategically as a thought partner but also work independently as a manager of activities to flawlessly execute the HCP tactical plan. It is imperative that this person drive performance and marketing excellence through partnership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the Branded campaign strategy to effectively convey key messages to target audiences.
  • Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Support the development of creative and breakthrough content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across various channels and touchpoints.
  • Support the development and execution of media investment strategies to maximize reach and engagement, in partnership with Omni-channel Digital Lead.
  • In collaboration with media and research/analytics partners, help establish a robust measurement framework to evaluate the impact and success of marketing initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to internal stakeholders, adjusting strategies and initiatives as needed.
  • Support the fully integrated branded campaign including key tactics, such as the branded HCP website, branded Interactive Visual Aid, and other key tactical initiatives to drive engagement of key stakeholders at launch.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Digital, Medical, Corporate Communication, Patient Advocacy) and external vendors to ensure a seamless user experience and enable product adoption.
  • Liaise closely with the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval to execute brand tactics efficiently and compliantly.
  • Manage HCP budget and support quarterly business and budget reviews; develop/track metrics to ensure success of programs and agency efficiency.

  • Domestic travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA or other advanced degrees is preferred.
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical experience with focus on US/global marketing and brand management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop HCP marketing strategy and execute/measure promotional campaigns.
  • US launch experience required-- experience in cardiovascular therapeutic, rare disease, and/or oncology category preferred.
  • Experience with ETASU REMS implementation and working with specialty pharmacies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues.
  • High-level strategic thinking, with the ability to translate customer insights into actionable marketing strategy.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrated ability to be a proactive thinker and to embody a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proven self-starter, able to work independently, able to handle full workload across multiple projects.
  • Collaborates seamlessly across functions to build effective working relationships and align on strategy and execution.
  • High level of self-awareness and understanding of the importance of self-monitoring behavior for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a matrix environment and building sustainable and collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to articulate and convey complex data and information concisely to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
