Role Summary

Associate Director, US Commercial Procurement responsible for leading category management and sourcing initiatives across US Marketing and Supply Chain categories, with heavy emphasis on US/Canada markets. Partners with cross-functional teams to develop and execute procurement strategies, drive savings, supplier performance, and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Category Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ Direct responsibility and accountability for category and suppliers in the categories listed above globally (with a heavy emphasis on US and Canada Markets).
  • Sourcing Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ Use Sourcing Management as a structured process, creating and leading cross-functional teams or overseeing the execution of sourcing initiatives.
  • Strategy Creation and Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ Work with cross-functional teams to create breakthrough strategies which both deliver quick wins, current strategy, and with a focus on innovative breakthroughs.
  • Sourcing and Contracting β€šΓ„Γ¬ Oversee the delivery of sourcing initiatives including RFI, RFP, negotiations and contracting by the central teams to put in place the right suppliers.
  • Strategy Implementation β€šΓ„Γ¬ Personally and proactively manage all aspects of implementation, including entry and exit of suppliers and the ensuing complex change management issues.
  • Supplier Development and Performance Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ Build relationships and manage key supplier performance against business requirements using proven processes to drive the realization of the full value of the key relationships. Also focused on compliance tracker and risk mitigation processes.
  • Continuous Improvement β€šΓ„Γ¬ Ensure that supplier relationships are set up for future continuous improvement and to lead review processes which ensures delivery of on-going improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management and Business Sponsorship β€šΓ„Γ¬ Work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem solving and proactive communication skills.
  • Business Requirements β€šΓ„Γ¬ Build a keen insight and understanding of business requirements on a 1-3-5-year horizon.
  • Results and Performance β€šΓ„Γ¬ The candidate will be a high-quality achiever who gets the right things done in the right way.
  • Market Knowledge, Insight, and Subject Matter Expertise β€šΓ„Γ¬ Use thorough market knowledge and data analysis to gain critical insights that drive the selection of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement activities. Actively participate in relevant industry conferences and events. Provide guidance, counsel and leadership to the team and wider organization in matters related to the categories under management. Selected candidate will be an individual contributor across the categories and activities they are responsible for.
  • Project and Change Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ High quality project and program management skills and a proven ability to manage change both internal and external through to successful completion.
  • Proactive Cost Management β€šΓ„Γ¬ Achieve cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment targets, and add value to area of expenditure through a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) orientation and process management.
  • Performance β€šΓ„Γ¬ Deliver ongoing savings, as required, as well as meeting the stakeholder business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree required.
  • Ten or more years in Strategic Procurement; emphasis on Marketing, Warehousing, Patient Support Programs, Call Center Operations, Sales Operations, and logistics category experience (Marketing is top category to support across the board).
  • Proven success in developing and executing regional/local sourcing strategies and partnering with global team members to leverage global strategies (as applicable).
  • Strong communications and influencing skills at senior levels.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with a wide variety of individuals, including senior management, stakeholders, team members, other departments, and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong Market Knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • English language fluency.
  • Understanding of buying tools such as COUPA and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analytical - Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze large complex data sets to derive relevant intelligence in developing sourcing strategies or supporting negotiations.
  • Subject Matter Expert in any of the listed categories above.
  • Creative, self-starter.
  • Bias for action and comfortable with changing environments.
  • MBA or advanced degree and/or relevant certifications desirable.
