At uniQure our focus is delivering on the promise of gene therapy β single treatments with potentially curative results. We are leveraging our modular and validated technology platform to rapidly advance a pipeline of proprietary gene therapies to treat patients with Huntington's disease, refractory temporal lobe epilepsy, Fabry disease, and other diseases.
Purpose of the Role
The Associate Director, Total Rewards and People Operations is a critical member of a global human resources (HR) team. The role has a broad scope of responsibilities including global compensation management, global equity management, U.S. benefit administration, U.S. leave administration, U.S. people operations, global human resource information systems (HRIS) management, and U.S. facilities responsibilities. The role is expected to work from our Lexington office on at least a hybrid basis and contribute both as an individual contributor and a people manager.

Key Result Areas (Major Duties, Accountabilities and Responsibilities)
Compensation & Equity Management
- Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding salary structure competitiveness, base salary programs, incentive compensation programs, and variable pay programs to ensure internal and external competitiveness.
- Participate in compensation surveys to maintain our access to market competitive intelligence across the U.S., Netherlands, and Switzerland.
- Partner with the HR team and the business to manage compensation increases associated with our regular annual and mid-year compensation cycles.
- Partner with talent acquisition to assess the offer package for new hires.
- Partner with finance on equity / stock plan administration, including new participant account setup, equity grant file management, tax certification and grant acknowledgement campaigns, offboarding, and demographic updates.
People Operations and HRIS Management
- Manage employee lifecycle data entry and changes within our HRIS technology platforms, including onboarding, employee data changes, and offboarding.
- Manage the orientation of all U.S. new hires.
- Partner with U.S. payroll to ensure compensation and benefit changes are accurately processed.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our HRIS technology platforms, including data accuracy, security, and user access.
- Manage the integration and connectivity between our HRIS systems, collaborating with information technology and/or external vendors as applicable.
- Ensure that all people data is of the highest quality in all HRIS systems and is consistently and accurately connected to downstream HRIS systems.
- Manage HRIS vendor relationships.
- Train the global HR team and employees on how to use our HRIS systems effectively, providing ongoing support to troubleshoot any technology issues.
- Develop and strengthen HR reporting through technology to enable the business to make fact-based decisions based on HR analytics.
Benefit & Leave Administration
- Manage U.S. benefit offerings, including health, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Direct the annual open enrollment for U.S. benefits, including project planning, employee communications, and HRIS system configuration.
- Partner with our benefits and retirement external vendors on administration, as well as compliance with both federal and state regulations.
- Maintain an on-going understanding of the external benefits marketplace, developing recommendations on program improvements based on benchmarking.
- Manage the leave process for employees, facilitating the process between employees and our leave administrator.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- BS/BA degree required, in an analytical field preferred.
- 8+ years of Compensation and HRIS experience.
- Benefit, leave administration, people operations experience preferred.
- Equity management preferred.
- People manager experience preferred.
- Payroll collaboration experience preferred.
- Biotechnology industry experience preferred.
