Responsibilities
- Lead a technical TS/MS (MSAT) organization providing oversight of biological and bioconjugate manufacturing processes in collaboration with engineering, IT, operations, and quality.
- Support site leadership to build a diverse/capable TS/MS organization to operate the facility to high standards.
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team; coach/mentor and manage performance.
- Determine TS/MS staffing and resource needs through facility startup to enable process qualifications and validations.
- Support robust control strategy development/implementation for regulatory compliance and operational excellence (lean principles; digitally native plant).
- Review/approve documentation: procedures, deviation investigations, technical reports, change controls, qualification/validation protocols, and summary reports.
- Support the project team to deliver the facility ready to operate and on schedule.
Basic Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field; 5+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience.
- 3+ years people leadership experience.
- GMP manufacturing operations experience; supporting regulatory inspections/audits.
- Biological drug product manufacturing experience with deep expertise in lyophilization process development/optimization.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- MS or PhD preferred.
- Knowledge of biotech manufacturing unit operations and lab/commercial scale models.
- Strong written/verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and on cross-functional process teams.
- Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.
Additional Information
- Travel possible (minimal). MondayβFriday onsite; flexible with production/shutdown support; occasional extended/off-hour work.
