Role Summary
Associate Director in Lilly's IT group partnering with Engineering and Global Serialization & Packaging, leading a team to deliver integrated, scalable, and secure IT and data solutions to improve processes through digital tools. Develop and deliver a comprehensive digital strategy focusing on innovation, enterprise standardization, process efficiencies, and technical scalability, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors while complying with pharmaceutical regulations.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive solutions that enable the digital strategy and transformation of the Engineering and Global Serialization organizations.
- Lead the integration of IT systems and data flows, enabling a scalable digital framework with smooth communication across site operations, Engineering and Global Serialization partners, and Quality.
- Develop team and partner organizations in using technology to recognize, define, and deliver efficiency-based values through technology toolsets and methodologies.
- Understand how internal data strategies and external benchmarking, platforms, and technologies enable business execution; challenge status quo and drive collaborations.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory, compliance, and security standards, including GxP, ensuring data and system integrity.
- Work with internal teams to define business problems, gather requirements, create designs, and deliver IT and data solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance system functionality, data flow, and overall operational efficiency; drive continuous improvement across solution and data architectures.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Required: Strong experience designing and implementing IT and Engineering / Serialization in a highly regulated, manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment, including systems like Systech, Tracelink, IBM Maximo, Auto Cloud Construction.
- Required: Proven experience with operational and strategic IT delivery.
- Required: Experience with AI, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies for managing data flows and building scalable, compliant data architectures.
- Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to define efficient digital roadmaps, troubleshoot system and operational issues, and optimize performance.
- Required: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, leadership, and external vendors effectively.
- Required: Experience as an IT leader leading large scale portfolios.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to influence IT and business strategies.
- Required: Validated learning agility and relationship-building to influence change using knowledge and relationships.
- Required: Successful record of high quality, user-focused, on-time and on-budget IT service and project delivery.
- Required: Intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field.
- Required: 5+ years of experience in IT solution leadership or technical roles within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Additional Requirements
- Role is Monday through Friday. Flexibility to provide support for production schedules, shutdowns; occasional extended hours/off-hour work may be required.
- Position resides in Indianapolis with occasional travel to other global Lilly sites as required.
