Associate Director, Statistics

Position Objectives:
- Serve patients by advancing Takeda’s R&D pipeline through Data & Quantitative Sciences and ensure scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.
- Integrate data science, analytics, and quantitative methods across drug discovery and development.

Position Accountabilities:
- Lead delivery for one or more assets at GPT level or specialty area in preclinical, clinical, and translational.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution and delivery within Global Project Teams (GPTs) and with external vendors.
- Ensure seamless, predictable SQS and DQS delivery mission.
- Own asset-level delivery strategies with effective risk identification and mitigation.
- Build internal and external influence with vendors for predictable delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery approaches using fit-for-purpose mitigations.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):
- Degree in statistics/biostatistics or equivalent quantitative sciences.
- PhD with ~5 years experience, or MS with ~8+ years experience.

Skills/Requirements:
- Expertise across multiple quantitative/statistical areas; recognized go-to on key topics.
- Drug R&D scientific understanding to inform methodological input.
- Strong communication across functional lines.
- Ability to identify and leverage innovative, fit-for-purpose methods.
- Ability to lead and be accountable for asset-level strategies.
- Demonstrated mentorship and matrix/direct management of a small team.
- Facilitate collaboration within GPTs and across DQS/R&D.
