Associate Director, Statistics

POSITION OBJECTIVES
- Lead Statistics and Quantitative Sciences efforts to advance Takeda’s R&D pipeline and support a data-driven, scientifically and quantitatively disciplined organization.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead delivery for one or more assets at GPT level or specialty area across preclinical, clinical, and translational.
- Facilitate cross-functional execution and delivery in Global Project Teams (GPTs) with DQS/R&D and external vendors.
- Enable consistent, seamless, predictable execution of SQS and DQS delivery mission.
- Lead and be accountable for asset-level delivery strategies, including risk identification and mitigation.
- Create internal and external (vendor) sphere of influence to support predictable delivery.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery approaches and apply fit-for-purpose mitigations.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS (Must have)
- Degree in statistics/biostatistics or equivalent quantitative sciences.
- PhD with ~5 years experience OR MS with ~8+ years experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep subject-matter expertise across quantitative/statistical areas; go-to colleague on key topics.
- Drug R&D scientific understanding to inform methodological input.
- Strong communication across functional lines.
- Ability to identify and apply innovative approaches and fit-for-purpose methods.
- Ability to mentor and/or matrix/direct manage a small team.
