Key Objectives/Results:
- Plan and execute sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to support site construction and later operations (negotiate with suppliers, convert requisitions to purchase orders, execute authority to commit, release orders, update SAP data).
- Align procurement strategy with site operational/performance/supply objectives; communicate with site leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with Lilly Global Procurement and counterparts at other Lilly sites.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with local suppliers while integrating global suppliers.
- Support supplier diversity initiatives.
- Establish, maintain, and update master supply agreements (Lilly Richmond as lead or key influencer) aligned with global strategies.
- Lead supplier relations management for strategic third-party suppliers (drive action items, resolve issues, continuous improvement).
- Negotiate with suppliers, finalize agreements, and prepare contracts.
- Identify and implement quality/reliability/efficiency/cost savings projects; consolidate and present forecasted site savings.
- Make/support decisions on material/supplier quality and resolve supplier issues while maintaining strong relationships.
- Conduct benchmarking for supported categories.
- Partner with Global Procurement and Site Finance for new supplier/service line arguments.
- Partner with demand planners and buyers to ensure supply continuity/security/integrity, minimize waste, and maintain accurate materials data.
- Ensure compliance with Lilly procurement/financial policies and regulatory commitments.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or similar field.
- 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and/or procurement.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas/work authorization.

Additional Preferences:
- MBA; Green/Black Belt training; regulated environment experience; project management and vendor negotiation experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt in a startup environment; strong teamwork/presentation/relationship-building; ability to influence diverse organizations.
