Associate Director, SG&A and Alliance Management

Role Summary

The Associate Director, SG&A and Alliance Management provides financial leadership and business support for the Franchise V commercial team (Venclexta and PVEK brands) with responsibility for SG&A forecasting, monitoring, and reporting, as well as alliance management and accounting activities and PVEK revenue forecasting and sales accounting. The role ensures the accuracy of the financial statements and internal controls, and will have one direct report with responsibility for their performance and development. The role collaborates with Finance, Commercial teams, Genentech, and AbbVie planning and reporting processes to consolidate Venclexta and PVEK P&L and alliance revenues and to develop analytics to support decision making.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Internal Control: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close / reporting processes for SG&A and revenues ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements; develop effective SG&A and alliance revenue reporting, performance monitoring, and support contingency planning; ensure SG&A investments optimize marketing mix and PVEK launch investments are sufficiently funded; monitor risks and opportunities and adapt strategic tactics as needed; oversee monthly collaboration transaction calculations for the Venclexta profit and cost sharing; manage shifts in financial obligations between Genentech & AbbVie and collaboration and ex-collaboration investments; lead Genentech collaboration reporting as required.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Proactively lead brand planning processes for SG&A and Alliance (Plan, LBE and LRP) ensuring integration of investment resources; manage investments per the annual budget and identify opportunities for reallocation; generate, present, and maintain SG&A and Alliance revenue forecasts with high precision; ensure planning deliverables are clear for executive review; coordinate with Genentech’s finance team to include actuals and shared SG&A spending in AbbVie planning cycles; perform ad-hoc analysis and scenario planning as needed.
• Strategic Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with all relevant Venclexta and PVEK functions, ensuring financial involvement to drive growth and profitability.
• People Leadership and Development: Delegate to and coach one direct report to ensure appropriate support and career development; foster a positive, productive, and inclusive culture; align with AbbVie Ways of Working and expected behaviors.
