Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Revenue and Gross-to-Net Accounting, is responsible for revenue recognition and gross-to-net accounting. Ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX; partners across Finance, Forecasting, Patient Access, Market Access, Commercial, and external stakeholders; drives operational excellence through process improvements, automation, internal controls, and scalable accounting practices.

Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly revenue and gross-to-net accounting in accordance with ASC 606.
- Own gross-to-net reserve calculations/review/analysis (rebates, chargebacks, returns, discounts, and other deductions).
- Prepare revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, analyses, and schedules.
- Partner on gross-to-net forecasting methodologies and assumptions.
- Evaluate revenue-related contracts; prepare technical accounting analyses/memoranda.
- Monitor/analyze gross-to-net trends, payer dynamics, and reimbursement changes.
- Lead SOX compliance activities, internal controls, audit support, and process documentation.
- Support commercialization activities (new launches, payer contracting, distribution channel changes).
- Drive process optimization, automation, and system enhancements.
- Assist in developing/mentoring accounting team members.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting for quarterly/annual reporting.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification.
- 8–10+ years progressive accounting experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and gross-to-net accounting.
- Public accounting experience required; Big 4 strongly preferred.
- Experience leading complex accounting processes and audit activities.
- Biotech/pharma experience with pharmaceutical commercial revenue recognition and gross-to-net under ASC 606.

Skills/Requirements:
- Strong US GAAP knowledge; familiarity with monthly close/quarterly reporting.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); Power BI/Alteryx a plus.
- ERP experience; NetSuite preferred.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration; remote/hybrid with occasional San Diego travel as needed.
