Role Summary

Associate Director, Revenue Accounting & Reporting responsible for building out accounting policies, operations, and internal controls across the order-to-cash cycle, with subject-matter expertise in revenue recognition and gross-to-net. Initially an individual contributor focused on month-end close, controls documentation, and process improvement, with potential to recruit and manage a revenue team in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of order-to-cash processes and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Act as subject matter expert in gross-to-net matters and collaborate with commercial teams.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Commercial IT.
  • Drive and coordinate timely updates to gross-to-net models, assumptions, and inputs.
  • Prepare, own, and maintain revenue accounting policies related to ASC 606.
  • Lead period-end financial reporting for revenue and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate on periodic GAAP revenue dashboard reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Own and prepare internal control documentation in order-to-cash and related areas (e.g., commissions).
  • Coordinate with 3PL vendors to gather data supporting revenue accounting and reporting.
  • Assist in compiling documentation to support SEC disclosures.
  • Assess system requirements for order-to-cash, lead system implementations and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to design and improve processes; support audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting and analyses and participate in special projects.
  • Future: recruit, manage, and develop a revenue team.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent business administration field.
  • Required: 10 years of relevant and progressive experience.
  • Required: 7 years of experience managing teams.
  • Required: Experience in commercialized therapeutic biotechnology companies.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of revenue recognition related to gross-to-net.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent

Additional Requirements

  • Travel may be up to 5% of time.
  • Physical demands: standard office environment; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
