Role Summary

Associate Director, Revenue Accounting & Reporting is a finance leadership role focused on building out accounting policies, accounting operations, and internal controls across the order-to-cash cycle. The role will serve as the subject matter expert in revenue recognition and gross-to-net, starting as an individual contributor and expanding into a strategic management role to recruit and lead the revenue team as the department grows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the design and implementation of the order-to-cash processes and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in gross-to-net matters and collaborate with commercial teams.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Commercial IT.
  • Drive and coordinate timely and accurate updates to the gross-to-net model, assumptions, and inputs.
  • Prepare, own, and maintain revenue accounting policies in connection with ASC 606.
  • Lead and prepare period-end financial reporting for revenue and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate on periodic reporting of GAAP revenue dashboards to internal stakeholders.
  • Own and prepare internal control documentation in the order-to-cash and related areas (e.g., commissions).
  • Coordinate with 3PL vendors to gather data supporting revenue accounting and reporting.
  • Assist in compiling and maintaining documentation for SEC disclosures.
  • Assess system requirements for order-to-cash to support growth; lead system implementations and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to design and improve processes.
  • Support periodic integrated audits and quarterly reviews with auditors.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis and contribute to special projects as needed.
  • In the future, recruit, manage, and develop a revenue team.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent business administration.
  • Required: 10 years of relevant and progressive experience.
  • Required: 7 years of experience managing teams.
  • Required: Experience in commercialized therapeutic biotechnology companies.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of revenue recognition in connection with gross-to-net.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
